Our hotel 100 years ago ...

In the territory of Usma manor there used to be a fishing village with small houses. At the beginning of the German era, the village was destroyed and a manor was built.

In 1687, the manor of Lielrenda was acquired by Jürgen Georg von Firks, a chamberlain who served in the Polish service and the steward of the Telšiai region (Oberst). During J. G. Firkks, Usma, Lāčlauki was separated as a separate unit in the land of Lielrendas manor. As a result of the change of ownership, in the first decades of the 18th century, the members of the von der Bruggen family became the owners of the Lielrenda and Usma manors.

Usma manor was a crown (state) manor. It was surrounded by farmsteads. In the place names, the name of the manor was abolished by the 1936 law on renaming rural real estate. At one time, Usma manor could be proud of a whole complex of buildings - a residential building, a magazine barn, barns and stables. To this day, there is a stable and a mansion, where the hotel "Usma manor" currently operates.

In the current territory of Usma parish, there were also Grenzhof and Gruenhof manors, as well as Charlotte's manor.

In 1935, Usma forestry was located in Usma manor. Over the years, the magazine building has been used both as a shop and as a poor house.
